Jake Bean is a Chromatic Button Accordionist, Trombonist and Composer/Arranger based in the greater Puget Sound and Leavenworth area. Jake studied Trombone Performance and Composition at Central Washington University where he honed in his skills on writing for Wind Ensemble in the march and waltz style. Jake’s strong Swiss and Norwegian background and love of traditional folk music lead him into teaching himself the accordion so he could become more familiarized with his Swiss roots.

Jake currently serves as an accordionist at assisted living communities such as: Kline Galland, Aegis Living, Cogir, Ida Culver, Bonaventure, Merrill Gardens, Avamere, and many other facilities, and is looking to spread his reach to other retirement communities to share his music with. Jake also performs regularly at a bar in Leavenworth called “Andreas Keller” where he plays polkas for the patrons there. On top of this, Jake accompanies the Finnish dance group of Seattle, the Norwegian Ladies Chorus of Seattle, and the Swiss Ladies Chorus of Bonney Lake. Since 2022, he has also been the feature accordionist for Oktoberfest and the Tree Lighting at University Place. As of 2024, Jake has took over leading the Gazebo Accordion Ensemble in Leavenworth during the “Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration”. Jake has performed at numerous concerts, music festivals, musicals, competitions (both for his playing and original compositions), and various other events.

Besides playing, Jake also teaches private lessons on accordion, trombone, euphonium and piano.
